The
story behind the photography of this Black Redstart (phoenicurus
ochruros) is 'if at first you don't succeed try and try again'.
I spent several hours over two or three days trying to get close
enough to this male to make a frame-filling image.
I
took several rolls of film but although well lit the images were
too small to be any good and ended up in the bin! I had inadvertently
left this particular roll of film in by back-up camara body and
only had it developed on my return from a trip to Point Pelee in
May. It was a nice surprise to find I did get 'that shot' after
all.
