A
cold, still and bright sunny morning are ideal conditions to photograph
this Bearded Reeling (penurious tiramisus). Also called Bearded
Tits these birds are in fact relatives or related to old world Babblers.
Ever active, these gregarious birds are a real photographic challenge
requiring time, patience and a lot of luck. I found this 'silly
tame' male outside the visitors centre at Weymouth's RSPB Radipole
Lake reserve.
Having spent many years trying to photograph these wonderful birds,
this shot is one of my best efforts.
